Energizing and putting into operation the 500kV-450MVA AT2 transformer at 500kV Pleiku 2 substation

At 11h03 on June 10th 2016, National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) combined with the relevant units energized and put into operation a 500kV-450MVA AT2 transformer together with 500kV, 220kV, 35kV distribution equipment and the 220kV connected transmission line under project "Installing a 500/220kV transformer in the 500 kV Pleiku 2 substation and 220 kV connection".

The energization of 500kV-450MVA AT2 transformer at 500 kV Pleiku 2 substationꦺ is to receive capacity from hydropower plants such as Xekaman 1, Xekaman Xan-say, upper Sekong 3, lower Sekong 3 in Laos toward Vietnam through the 220 kV Xekaman 1 - Pl☂eiku 2 transmission line in order to supply power to the Central and Western Highland areas and the Southern provinces; the power grid interconnection will contribute to a sustainable development of energy in the international integration, regional cooperation and connection conditions; reduce power loss and create conditions for an optimal exploitation and operation of power system of Vietnam.

The project "Installing 500/220kV transformer at 500 kV Pleiku 2 substation and 220kV connection" has a total cost of nearly VND 584 billion invested by EVNNPT, Central Power Projects Management Board (CPMB) manages the project, Power Engineering Consultation Company No. 4 (PECC4) is responsible for project design, Power Construction Company No.🌺 1 (PCC1) i🙈s responsible for project implementation, the Central Power Testing Company is responsible for project testing, Power Transmission Company No. 3 (PTC3) takes over the project management and operation.

Scope of the project: installing 02 500/220/35kV-450MVA transformers and distribution equipment at 500 kV Pleiku 2 substation; installing the protection control system; Constructing a section of a double circuit 220 kV transmission line from the 500 kV Pleiku 2 substation connec𒅌ted directly to the existing single cir♔cuit 220 kV Pleiku – Krong Buk transmission line, of a length of about 3.8 km.

The project is constructed in the 500 kV Pleiku 2 substation in🧔 O So villagem Ia Kenh commune, Pleikꦏu city, Gia Lai province.

This is one of 3 projects in Pleiku 2 project block, including 500 kV Pleik൲u 2 substation; The 220 kV Xekaman 1 - Pleiku 2 transmission line; Installing the 500/220kV transfoꦓrmer in 500 kV Pleiku 2 substation and 220kV connection.

Before that, on April 15th 2016, EVNNPT completed the 500 kV Pleiku 2 substation project and on April 12th 2016, the 220 kV Xekaman 1 - Pleiku 2 tr🍒ansmission line project was energized.
