The workshop is hosted by
IT department of EVNNPT. Delegations are
representatives from functional departments of EVNNPT, Power Transmission Company 4 and experts𓆏 from GE.
GIS is not a normal software
that provides the power transmission companies a fast access to mapping,
leveraging database and automating workflows, GIS also supports power companies
in facing many changings in energy management. With the fact that power
transmission companies must collect a lot of data from a variety locations and
terrains, GE has successfully ♔researched and came out with a software called
Smallworld - Geographic Information System (GIS). This software has four main
areas:
1. Data integrity: The
application is a configurable IEC CIM v15 standard🔜s-based module that provides
utilities, in addition it’s fu𝕴lly connected and traceable topological model for
low voltage, medium voltage and high voltage.
2. Market Integration:
Provides access to asset information to suppliers and the commu🅷nity through a
web interface, ability to find resources through topologically connected
network trace.
3. Information
Technology: Power system modellin🌸g, energy management and forecasting, and
asset management for planning, design and analysis of power networks,
maintenance and operations.
4. Telecommunications: In-built
support for operational telecommunication network and device🍎s.

After the workshop, EVNNPT will consider the benefits and the
potential of installing this application on national grid. The delegations hope
that GE will continue to share with EVNNPT
their experiences about GIS appli🧸cation in management of operat✨ion of power
transmission system in the coming time./.
